The risks of computer misuse and even fraud is an ever present threat for all businesses, however training and maintaining an Incident Response team which can react to a problem whilst maintaining integrity of data is a very expensive option. Many companies have found to their cost what happens when suspect computers are handed over to a well meaning IT team for a ‘look’. In most cases data integrity is lost and evidence cannot be presented to a court or tribunal.

CSITech can be your virtual Incident Response team. For an annual fee we will train members of your IT team how to respond to a problem and how to acquire and secure data evidence in a forensically sound manner. A help desk then becomes available so any possible threats or suspicions can be discussed with our experts and advice given. Finally we provide the expertise to carry out an investigation to locate any evidence of wrong doing and will even attend a Court or tribunal if required.

The cost of setting up an incident response team can include: -

• 2 x security professionals - £35k - £50k + each
• Forensic and first response training - £4000 per year each.
• Annual cost for office space, equipment, software - £20k 1st year and at least £5k per year thereafter.
• Training in law and preparation for Court/Tribunal appearances with the risk of not appearing neutral – Unknown value.
